  1. The Jayhawks are the NCAAB men's champions for 2022 defeating the Tar Heels 72-69. (Sorry Gary.)

  2. From today's KC Star:

In what seems like forever ago now, the NCAA in 2019 alleged Kansas had committed five Level I violations, and named Self and assistant Kurtis Townsend personally in accusing them of “intentionally and willfully engaging in NCAA violations.” Self and his lawyers have adamantly disputed the allegations, which revolve around payments made by Adidas representatives, KU’s apparel sponsor, to potential recruits. Self referred to the accusations as innuendo and three years later, after the involvement of an independent review process, we still await a resolution. So the games go on.

I was without power for over 5 hours last night so I didn't have to see any of the probie tourney.

    1. Thanks, Gary. Now I know what Tar Heels mean.

  3. That's the thing about sports I dislike. Transgressions, crimes, lying — whatever — if you are a star athlete, there are always some who will overlook it. Latest example: DeShaun Watson.

    1. So true! In the case mentioned above, the 2 adidas bag men are in jail for their participation in innuendo. A 3rd bag man testified for the prosecution so he got probation. Baylor, UNC and several others were involved in similar innuendo with adidas or Nike. I'm guessing if the payoffs are so big that the FBI gets involved, it must be capital Innuendo.

Other trivia: Shaheen Holloway went from the enchantment of St. Peter's, at 300K, to his alma mater, Seton Hall for 2.4 million/year for 6 years. No real surprise. Today I read that 3 of his players at St. P. have chosen to transfer. Not too surprising either, but sad for the school.
