Happy Canada Day

  1. It is with mixed feelings we celebrate Canada Day. Each day it seems we find more unmarked children's graves at residential schools across our country. While we salute our nation's future, we also must acknowledge over 150 years of trying to erase our aboriginal identity and culture.

    1. Many are wearing orange today rather than red, to commemorate decades of lost lives and abuse of Canada's aboriginal children.

  2. There are many govt made tragedies we all have to face, throughout the world, and do something to fix those mistakes. Unfortunately, we're still housing racists in our govt and state houses who make it difficult to progress. I am optimistic that eventually, the good and decent people in our countries will prevail, just not soon enough. In the meantime, I'll quietly celebrate my country's birthday on the 4th with a solo ride on the motorcycle, maybe buy a stranger a cup of coffee... and hopefully the temperature will be tolerable!

I salute our neighbors on Canada Day! 🇨🇦

  3. Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends and family. I will wear red today in your honor. I believe that true National holidays, such as Canada Day and Independence Day (July 4th), should be days of celebration for two nations who stand for right and justice and the wonderful citizens who populate them. While I deplore these senseless killings, for one day, let us bask in the beautiful culture that other nations envy. we will never stop trying to right these wrongs but lets be happy on this one day. I am blessed with terrific Canadian friends. Thank you all.

    1. I neglected to sign the above message. Sorry, just an oversight, I don't believe in anonymous postings.
