We have a final score from last night: 3-0. No, not the NHL, the Brier — yes, the Brier! — as Northern Ontario downed Manitoba. Wasn't the five-rock free guard zone supposed to generate offence?
That is the impact of analytics on curling. Gunnlaugson (MB skip) refuses to take a single when he has hammer. So he will attempt doubles or even triples to score 2 or more, or to blank. So after numerous blanks, he gave up 2 steals.
It was 1-0 at the mid-point break. Yawn.
