An early final from the Canadian men’s curling championship: NB 10; NU 2. The foursome from Iqaluit hoped for an upset, but New Brunswick was having Nunavut.

  1. This would probably bother me if I knew anything about curling.

    1. No it wouldn't. Nunavut - pronounced Noon-a-vut (rhymes with put) - is a relatively new territory in northern Canada. Sparsely populated with few curling facilities. So their representative in the championship is badly over-matched by even tier 2-level teams like New Brunswick.

    2. When I looked up Iqaluit yesterday, my computer told me that I could fly there for about $2-grand and it would take 12 hours. Then I saw its location, almost to Greenland. So Chad's relatively close. He can take a curling vacation!

    3. It is very Northern. In the dead of winter, the sun doesn't come up.

    4. Iqaluit is loosely pronounced ee-cal-loo-it.
