The last pitcher 35 or older to have a sub-200 average in earned runs was Spud Chandler in 1943. No pitcher that age has done it in the modern ERA.

    Good!

    He also won the MVP award that year, surprisingly (to me), he's the only Yankee pitcher to ever win it.
