Did you see Team Canada skip Brad Gushue at the Ford Worlds in Sin City chapping off a Scottish rock and staying for two? It's true what they say: What "chaps in" in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

  1. I've got to learn something about Curling so I can enjoy some of these barbs. Starting now: what's a skip?

  2. Skip (like skipper on a ship) calls the game, and usually (though not always) throws last rocks.

There is a shot in curling called the chap-and-lie where you hit an opposition rock, glance off it and roll to a better spot in the rings, usually behind other stones (guards).
