You might soon hear about the American men's team skipped by John Shuster — look very good and much improved over 4 years ago. They are medal favourites in my opinion. If you like cerebral games, Gary, curling has been called chess on ice.
Dwayne was in my rough notes, so he came in at number 6 I suppose. Since The Rock is a nickname, and it takes up a lot of characters , I tried to find other shorter names. In hindsight, Ice-T would have been an even better T-line allusion than Mr. T. But as you have probably experienced yourself, Hartley, it was one of those "I wish I'd thought of that sooner" moments after the column has gone for publishing.
I'm not familiar with curling at all, but I do get the "stone" references. Mr Miller: the words 'Bayless' and 'honorable' do not belong in the same sentence together. Chad
Not very familiar with curling but I get a few of those! Yipee yi-o ki-a.

DeleteLove the sudden change to a cartoon character. Nice deke there RJ.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on the list?
ReplyDeleteIs "Skip" Bayless an honorable mention?

DeleteAlso, I had Emma Stone, and wanted to keep a female on the list. So since rock and stone refer to the same thing, Dwayne got "tapped out."
DeleteI never thought of Skip. Definitely a curling term, Hartley.
Why don't you change Mr. T on the blog RJ? That's one advantage of electronic publishing.
DeleteGood point, Kelly. ... Done!

ReplyDeleteChad
Quick Draw is a bigger TV star than Bayless, and less cartoonish.
