Devils defenceman Eric Gelinas took a blowtorch to his stick blade prior to playing the Leafs. The contest marked the 40th anniversary of Darryl Sittler’s 10-point game — talk about a stick on fire!
Yep. In fact players before and since have had 8 points, but Sittler's record of 10 (6 goals and 4 assists) set against Boston, February 7, 1976, still stands. Also interesting that nobody has had a 9-point game.
