On the eve of the Wimbledon semi-final, Serena Williams said she loves playing Maria Sharapova. No kidding. She’d beaten Sharapova 16 straight times — what’s not to love?
Toying seems fitting, Gary. I heard Sharapova has a winning record against the other top 25 players - something like 120-37. Yet Serena has won 17 straight over her - and the last 8 or 9 in straight sets!
She seems so focused against Maria - determined to whip her ass.
And today, make that 17 straight times.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not so much 'playing' Maria as 'toying' with her. That's an incredible run!
