Eight years ago after a U of Minnesota hockey game, a Gopher got sucker punched in the handshake line. Roughriders' mascot Gainer hasn't been this upset since they invented Troy Westwood.
Troy was a Bomber place-kicker who jokingly called the good folks of Saskatchewan "banjo-picking inbreds." Thus began the annual labour day followup with the Riders — the Banjo Bowl.
Yes, Larry Walker. Well deserved and long past overdue.
Walker's stats destroy the notion that Coors field pads a hitters figures. Almost a perfect match home vs away, right down the line. He's a keeper. Chad
