How about the Alliance of American Football folding just eight weeks
into its inaugural season? Just like that, they went from an alternative
to an AAFterthought.
Steve Spurrier declared his team champs because they had the best record at 7-1. Terrible story really: unpaid players, unable to pay their hotel bills, unable to get home with no money to pay for tickets. One guy had jst ripped up his knee, and now no medical care, no physio.
Never heard of it, til now!
