MLB's rarest and riskiest pitch is the eephus,
said to surprise hitters with its exceptionally slow speed. Back in the day that was my go-to pitch — although opponents called it my fastball.
A number of pitchers are still messing with that pitch tho very few use the high arc like Rip used to do. Surprised there's a video clip of Rip throwing the depths to Ted Williams in the 46 All-Star game.
