SPORTSDEKE NOTE: 
I was shocked to hear the Omaha World-Herald dropped Brad Dickson's humour column. I am a great admirer of Brad's work - consistently funny week in and week out. Reconsider OWH, he's a keeper.

    That is surprising. Got to believe some paper will grab him, quickly, though it underscores the sorry state of the industry as I'm sure you know better than I do.

      It is a tough time for papers. That's why I will always click at least one ad on pages I like and when one of them runs my stuff. Helps pay the bills.

      He's one of the best - maybe THE best - of our little niche. Too many humour collections have disappeared.

    I tweeted the above post. Afterwards I got a short note from Brad. Here is part of it:

    "Thanks very much for your comment on Twitter. I appreciate it. ... Your tweet stood out amongst all of the strong feedback."

    So more than a few of our cult of mirth are troubled by this.

    We've had lunch with Brad a few times. He's just as entertaining in person. Michele is a terrific lady also.
