The Dallas Cowboys released receiver Rodney Whitehead after he was falsely accused of shoplifting. Probably not the first Whitehead to get squeezed out early.

    Stupid indeed! Some guy caught shoplifting pretends he is Rodney Whitehead, and the Cowboys promptly cut the real McCoy — who was nowhere near incident.

    Ironically, Rodney's nickname is Lucky. After being released by Dallas he was signed by the Jets. More irony?
