Blue Jays backup catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia has the longest surname in team history at 14 letters. Now that’s a high-character player.

  1. That he is! Interestingly, when he was with the Red Sox, there was a player in their minor league by the name of Seth Schwindenhammer. 15 letters I'm told. Unfortunately, Seth is now out of the game. He could have been the first to have his name hyphenated on his uniform.

  2. Interesting, Gary. 15 characters would need long sleeves on the jersey.
