Mets third baseman David Wright called their return to the World series “a long time coming” after a 15-year absence. “We see your 15,” said the Cubs, “and raise you 55.”

    Amen! I don't want to take anything away from the Royals title, but geez, the Mets gave 3 games to them!

    David Wright in particular came crashing back to earth in that series: went from Ruth to Buckner.
