In honour of the Roar of the Rings, the top eight Canadian curling bands: 8. April Line 7. Brush 6. Great Big Tee 5. Men Without Hacks 4. The Sweepdogs 3. Nickelrunback 2. Bachman-Inturn Overdrive 1. The Tragically Chipped
You may see this list reprinted in a different order. I often give my sporting friends the option of adding local emphasis. So a Saskatchewan paper may want to move up The Sweepdogs (Sheepdogs).
In case you are wondering (alphabetically): April Wine, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Great Big Sea, Men Without Hats, Nickelback, Rush, The Sheepdogs, The Tragically Hip.
You and me both, Len: April Wine had so many hits: Drop Your Guns, Oowatanite, You Could Have Been A Lady, Like A Lover, Like A Song, I’m On Fire For You, Baby, Bad Side Of The Moon, I Wouldn’t Want To Lose Your Love, You Won’t Dance With Me, Tonite Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Just Between You and Me
I agree. Lots of laughs RJ. I enjoyed these as much as your Beatles curling hits. And like Len, April Wine takes me back. So does Men Without Hacks - Pop Goes the World.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant stuff RJ. I'm American and I know all but one of these bands. Why haven't Canuck papers picked this up?
