A team of behavioral scientists at Wofford College in South Carolina claim they've taught a female border collie to understand at least 1,022 words. To put that in perspective, the researchers say Chaser currently has a vocabulary a bit short of the record held by a budgie named Puck, but slightly larger than Dion Phaneuf's.
