A statue of James Naismith was unveiled last April in Springfield, Mass., where he invented the game of basketball. A replica is planned for the University of Kansas where he coached, and another next year in Naismith's birthplace, Almonte, Ontario. It's hard to say what's more fitting: the father of basketball receiving a tribute, or it turning into a three point play.
